Performance physical therapy to optimize your movement so you can get out of pain and avoid surgery

Physical Therapy

Dr. Alex Samuel is a Board certified Physical Therapist who will evaluate and rehabilitate individuals who have conditions or injuries that limit their ability to move and or perform physical activities. This can be improving one's range of motion, increasing his or her strength, as well as decreasing their pain. Dr. Samuel has had internships learning from the former PTs of the Miami Dolphins and clinical rotations with NYU Orthopedics.

He has experience treating individuals with Acute and Chronic musculoskeletal disorders. Whether you have undergone surgery, or dealing with chronic pain, Dr. Alex Samuel can address your goals. He uses a combination of his background in track and field and degree in Kinesiology to look at human movement from a very specific lens to help his patients move better than they could ever imagine.

Our 5 Step Framework

Step 1: Go through an in-depth interview so you feel heard

We will ask questions about your past medical history, surgical history, current meds, and other health related  questions that will give us a clear idea of what you’re going through.

Step 2: We take you through our signature Ascend Assessment

The Ascend Assessment™ will take you through our custom mobility and strength screens to understand exactly where your body is that. We don’t assess a single joint or muscle, we focus on the whole body. Our signature  assessment will tell us exactly what makes your pain better or worse.

Step 3: We collaborate with you to develop a tailored rehab plan

Based off our signature assessment, you’ll get a custom plan with effective exercises that will address your pain and limitations immediately. You’ll leave your evaluation with a clear understanding of your musculoskeletal  issues and an actionable plan for improvement. 90% of our patients report feeling relief within one session.

Step 4: You’ll get unparalleled support and guidance through the Ascend app

We scale your exercise program weekly via our custom virtual app so that you are getting closer to your goals  without guessing on your own. You’ll have access to your therapist in between sessions to help you troubleshoot any problems that come up within the same app.

Step 5: Return to your goals and optimize your health/performance

We take you through the most in depth return to sport assessment to ensure your are in the best position to return to your goals. Our team will typically work with our patients on an ongoing basis afterwards to continue to improve their health and performance. We believe taking care of your body should be proactive rather than reactive so you can perform at your highest level for years to come.

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY TREATMENT

What is extra-corporeal radial shockwave therapy?

Extra-corporeal radial shockwave therapy (ESWT) is a series of high-energy percussions to the affected area. The shockwave is a physical sound wave “shock”, not an electric one.

How does it work?

1. Treatment produces an inflammatory response. The body responds by increasing metabolic activity around the site of pain. This stimulates and accelerates the healing process (promotes the remodeling of dysfunctional collagenous tissues, such as tendinopathies, trigger points, muscle strains, etc.).

2. Shockwaves break down scar tissue and/or calcification

What are the benefits of Shockwave Treatment?

This therapy stimulates the body’s natural self-healing process. There is actually an immediate reduction of pain and improved range of motion. ESWT may also eliminate your need for surgery depending on the symptoms present.
